Our exciting tour begins with a visit to the historic center of Corfu, the capital of the island. Here we enjoy a walking tour and see the most important sites of the Old City. The heart of the city is a labyrinth of small alleys that intersect with larger and busier streets full of typical old artisans’ shops.
Continue your sightseeing tour, passing the Kaiser Bridge to enjoy a magnificent view of the bay. A short photography stop will be made to capture some beautiful photos of Vlacherna Convent and Mouse Island, the landmark of Corfu.
We will visit the imposing Achilleion Palace in Gastouri built in 1892 for Empress Elisabeth of Austria – Sissi. Stroll through a wonderful garden decorated with beautiful statues representing characters from Greek mythology and discover the different rooms of the Palace, with documents, paintings, antique furniture and a lovely chapel.
Then we continue to Paleokastritsa, you will be able to visit the monastery, on the edge of a lush green mountain overlooking the sea. Visitors are welcome inside to see the famous “Tree of Life” ceiling sculpture.
With its stunning rugged coastline and crystal-clear sea, Paleokastritsa is home to numerous sea caves, which can be visited by small boats.
Our journey continues with a scenic drive up the mountain to the picturesque village of Lakones, guests can admire a beautiful bird’s eye view of Paleokastritsa. In this idyllic setting, guests can enjoy a typical lunch in a traditional tavern with stunning views and the horizon beyond (payable directly by customers).
