The Corfu Archaeological Museum, which opened its re-exposition in 2018, houses antiquities from ancient Corfu Town and the rest of the island. Through 1,600 exhibits it tells the story of the island from prehistory to late antiquity. Among them stands out the monumental pediment of the temple of Artemis with the representation of Gorgos, the oldest surviving stone pediment of ancient Greek architecture.
